About Us

Kerith Creek is a home-based small business begun in 2015. In this increasingly transient world, our goal is to help you stay close to those you love, even when you are geographically distant. We strive to provide high quality products at an affordable cost, because saying “I love you” with a great gift should be an option for everyone.

Our Story…

Deborah Wise, founder of Kerith Creek, learned how difficult it is to be far from loved ones when she and her husband, Steve, moved to Cambodia to do mission work. In their over a decade of overseas living, Deborah sought out creative ways to communicate with family and friends back at home. She saw how something well-made and beautiful could express care and concern with an elegance that sometimes surpassed words.

In 2013 Steve and Deborah returned to the US to search out the next step in their journey. Thinking back to their cross-cultural experiences, they decided to join an organization that extends shepherding care to those living and ministering overseas. Having learned many things about mission life, Deborah knew that she wanted tent-making to be a part of her plan for raising support. (Tent-making is a term for a missionary who earns an income with a skill or a job in order to partially or wholly fund their ministry.)

The ultimate goal for Kerith Creek is to help those living overseas get meaningful cards and gifts to family and friends in a timely, affordable manner. We also have the vision to draw in products from other tent-making enterprises, developing countries, and organizations that work for the betterment of others.

Our Inspiration…

Our name comes from the story of Elijah (in 1 Kings 17) living by a stream during a drought in Israel. The remarkable thing about his situation is that God used ravens to bring food to Elijah—providing for him in a miraculous, unique way. This story encapsulates what Kerith Creek is about: providing for the needs of others, communicating care from a distance, and discovering creative delivery solutions.

We are starting small. We have a long way to go. But we look forward to whatever lies ahead. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
